Marc Jacobs steps down as creative director of Louis Vuitton



After 16 years at Louis Vuitton Marc Jacobs is leaving.

The New York designer is leaving as the creative director of Louis Vuitton after 16 years at the position to focus on supporting his own label, Marc Jacobs.

The news was confirmed by LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault.

Jacobs is responsible for introducing the ready-to-wear line to the range and turning the brand into a global brand, before Jacobs joined the label it was known solely for the luggage collections.

A successor to Jacobs is yet to be named
