Matthew Williamson ready-to-wear autumn/winter 2013-2014

Matthew Williamson's ready-to-wear autumn/winter collection for 2013-2014 is a brilliant contrast between the returning trend monochrome and some bright summer colours.

The collection uses striped fabric to create a skirt suit set, a range of slim fitting trouser suits are also created using lime and violet colours, the sets are well fitting to the warmer months.
Matthew Williamson has designed many casual items that can be used in a range of combinations to create a wardrobe that is suitable throughout the spring and summer, with floral print being a large influence on the range. Williamson has created floral smart wear with small collars and floral inspired knit wear.

The roots of the range seem to be within aztec trends, used with textured layers, a fringed necklace is worn and it is combined with a crisp white suit. The summer items mainly consist of light fabric maxi dresses that use colours inspired by the toxic colouring of the Northern Lights, this is reflected by the two toned fringing over a cosmic printed high neck maxi dress.

Matthew said that: "The idea was to move the silhouette on, to look loose, move away from form-fitted and to be relaxed." The collection certainly performs whatever the occasion.
The collection is available to view here.
